As such, I switched to taking a break and popping back occasionally for some fun with the hope of beating it. I was 20 hours or so in before I felt like it was expecting too much of a grind between mainline quests. You can also build up your town in order to craft items, enchantments, etc.

There's PVP too, which people seem to like, but I don't care for PVP stuff in general. It's use is as a progressively harder dungeon, but in actuality every floor is a straight line with a handful of enemies to fight until you die or get bored. They're still fun to an extent if you like the general gameplay loop, but it is definitely recommended that you do them in smaller doses. These jobs fall into a small handful of categories, and feel very similar due to reusing very similar map layouts. The main issue is that the generic jobs, which constantly respawn and act as missions to get money, resources, xp, etc more than anything. In fact, the main quests are pretty fun and feel unique enough to have a lot of fun. There are basic puzzles too, but mainly in the storyline quests. I find that spells and abilities are often unreliable for the most part due to the time it takes to use them (you'll get hit), so just use it whenever it is mostly effective and stick to my axe. You can either use timed hits with your weapon to try and maximise damage, cast spells, use abilities, or block with your shield. The gameplay too is more akin to those old dungeon crawlers, where you go around a mazelike area (in this case a very simple one) and fight monsters 1 on 1. The quests are more a framework to get you doing stuff. The stories are basically functional, and even the NPCs mostly lack voices. It may look a bit like Elder Scrolls, but really it is nothing alike.
KATANA ZERO DLC RELEASE DATE FREE
I won't post the table since my December game was beaten last month anyway!Ī surprisingly fun free to play game, but go in with expectations firmly in check. I don't expect to have any more games beaten this month, since I'll probably just be replaying some stuff until Super Meat Boy Forever is out.Īs an FYI, these games were played / beaten too late to be considered for my GOTY Awards, so will be considered for next year instead. Posted my list for 2021, my GOTY awards, and now - finally - the December update.
