Hello, I am currently having an issue with uninstalling and reinstalling a program called eDrawing (09). The problem I am having is that currently, eDrawing is installed and whenever someone turns it on, it takes one of licenses away. I know that eDrawing does not require a license to function. (In fact, i have a few that way right now) My issues is trying to get this program to NOT take one of my licenses. If I uninstall and delete almost anything and everything I can find about solidworks, and reinstall (WITHOUT specifing a license server) it will still pick up the license server and take one of my licenses.

Is there somewhere that the license server is defined at on the local computer that sets this? Is it a discovery thing on the server? Thanks for the help. Hi, Firstly, I'm not a SolidWorks expert, so I'll go over the general logic of licensing, please correct me where I'm wrong.
I'm just trying to help because your question is not answered, not I think that I can solve your problem:) We'll try to solve this together. So let me understand the situation better. 1) eDrawing is installed on a computer and pointing to your license server 2) This is a shared computer which multiple users use eDrawing (maybe a terminal server) 3) When you turn it on, it takes a license, what license is this? Is this a Windows License Server and it is taking your Windows CALs or is this some kind of SolidWorks licensing server? One more question, I assume you are using eDrawings Professional. It states in the SolidWorks Licensing is required for SolidWorks eDrawings Professional, which is the SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer with enhanced functionality.
The primary methods of licensing are: SolidWorks eDrawings Professional standalone SolidWorks Professional. SolidWorks Premium. SolidWorks eDrawings Professional - network - SolidNetwork License (SNL) I think you are using the last method, the SNL way. And the statement above clearly says it needs a license from the SNL. From what I've read so far, the SNL is the licensing server for SolidWorks and it is also a parameter in the setup: ' SNLSERVER Enter the port@servername for your SolidNetWork License server. Use semi-colons to separate multiple port@servername combinations.
A port server name for SNLSERVER is only required for the SolidWorks SNL server configuration. Is a list of strings delimited by semi-colons, each of which refers to a port number on a server with the format: xxxxx@; yyyyy@; where x and y are single digits. After the last server in the list, do not put a semi-colon. ' This parameter can be stated in manual install. If you don't state it during install, it discovers the server and bounds itself to the licensing server. Sorry for not responding.
For future references. This was not a terminal, just a users computer. Generally, just one user. It was taking one Professional license from my solidworks seat licensing.
(As long as there were some. If there weren't any licenses available, then it would revert to the free Edrawing. The problem was that in the options (Tools Options) in eDrawing, there was a checkbox that I passed over which solved my problem. 'Disable SolidWorks network license'. I unchecked that and they are not taking my licenses anymore.
SolidWorks Document Manager Solidworks installations include the SolidWorks Document Manager, SWDocumentMgr.dll. The standalone version of the eDrawings Viewer does not include this add-on. When eDrawings is installed on a system without SolidWorks, drawings that include elements such as custom properties and tables may not be displayed with their most current data.
When you open a SolidWorks drawing, you are warned about the missing DLL and given the option to install it. If you continue without doing the download, SolidWorks drawings that rely on the software are marked with a warning that some of the content may not be up-to-date.
